Walter Ellis, DPM, is a skilled, board-certified foot and ankle specialist with more than 35 years of clinical and surgical experience. He established the St. Cloud Foot and Ankle Center 1991. It has grown and is treating patients at outreach clinics in Becker, Melrose, and Paynesville, providing outstanding podiatric care to Central Minnesota and beyond.
Dr. Ellis offers state-of-the-art care, such as amnio stem cell therapy, MLS laser therapy, and EPAT therapy, for the treatment of a range of conditions, including chronic pain, neuropathy, swelling, and wound healing. He specializes in surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for all foot and ankle issues, such as sports injuries, Achilles’ tendinitis, bunions, hammertoe, heel pain, and more.
Patients trust Dr. Ellis for his extensive knowledge and his personalized approach to care. Dedicated to patient education, he takes time to listen to concerns and answer questions before developing customized treatment plans that serve the needs of the patient.
Dr. Ellis earned his medical degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency in podiatric surgery at Lincoln West Hospital in Chicago and went on to complete the Southwest Minnesota podiatric residency program, a seven-hospital affiliate program based in southern Minnesota.
Dr. Elis is on the staff at the St. Cloud, Melrose, and Paynesville hospitals. He is also on surgical staff at the St. Cloud Surgical Center and CentraCare Plaza Surgical Center.
He has served at past Chief of Staff at the St. Cloud Surgical Center and Past Chairman of the CentraCare Health Foundation.
Dr. Ellis has 2 grown children and lives with his wife, Trecia in St. Cloud. He enjoys time with family at the lake and international hunting and fishing destinations. Dr. Ellis is terrible at golf, so he replaces this time with collecting pre-war Ford automobiles and four-cylinder Indian motorcycles.
